It was Christmas eve, eve and I had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Harriett and James were tying the knot at one of my favourite venues, Owen House Wedding Barn. This venue is a particular favourite of mine and at this time of year, it promises for the most stunning of settings.
Having captured images of their growing family, I was so excited to photograph their wedding.
I arrived at Owen House early enough to see the bridal preparations in full flow. I like to showcase weddings in the most informal of ways, and it was a joy to sit back and document the anticipation of the big day ahead.
Harriett made her way down the aisle with her very proud dad, and waiting for her was James, full of emotion and fair to say, a few nerves. Live music from the band ‘Northern Exposure’ created the most emotional of atmospheres.
The ceremony was beautiful and a reading from their little girl Bella had the guests in tears and laughter. The happy couple exited the barn to a rapturous applause from their nearest and dearest.
Drinks were served outside in the winter sunshine. Vanilla in all seasons caterers were on hand too, warming the guests up with some traditional winter nibbles.
Speeches were unique and had the guests roaring with laughter. I’m sure this will be something that Harriett and James remember from their day. A huge surprise to everyone was the visit from Santa and his reindeer. Excited children were given presents and were entertained with a story in the cosy barn.
After cutting the cake and an epic first dance, the guests made their way onto the dance floor for a very lively evening reception.
